Background
In the 2005-2007 biennial budget, the state of Minnesota provided funding for college presidents to make awards to faculty members for performing special approved projects beyond their normal assignments. The funding was again provided in the 2007-2009 biennium using the language in HF 1063, (Chapter 144), Article 1, Section 4, Subdivision 2). A link to the legislation is on the left-hand side of this page.
The 2007-2009 MSCF bargaining agreement with the state addresses these awards in Article 13, Section 4, pages 59-60. You can find a link to the contract on the left-hand side of this page.
